Viterra – Worker Accommodation

Various locations, South Australia

Scope
Design, supply, and delivery of climate-controlled temporary accommodation facilities to support seasonal grain operations across remote South Australian sites. The solution provides essential living infrastructure in locations not serviced by permanent accommodation, enabling the formation of temporary workforce communities during harvest season. Each camp includes sleeping quarters, a recreation area, and a commercial-grade, self-catering kitchen and laundry for guest use. By positioning accommodation directly at the work site, the solution reduces productivity losses associated with worker travel to and from distant regional lodging.

Delivery Timeline
Delivered annually since 2021 under a recurring contract with Viterra. Camps are established in early October ahead of the harvest and fully disestablished in February following its completion. Humanihut maintains the flexibility to accommodate delayed harvest starts, extend operational periods, or adjust delivery schedules in response to seasonal variations. The system is fully scalable to support increased accommodation capacity when required by larger harvest volumes.

Project, Contract and Supplier Management
Camps are established and disestablished by Humanihut’s trained specialist teams. Day-to-day operations are managed by Viterra staff, with Humanihut providing on-call maintenance support throughout the contract period. A mid-season inspection by an Humanihut team member ensures ongoing facility performance and service continuity.

Logistics Capability
Turnkey solution encompassing all logistics and service components. Humanihut manages the manufacture, procurement, and delivery of all required infrastructure, including furniture, fixtures, equipment, and signage. Logistics are coordinated via road freight, with infrastructure prepared in advance to ensure efficient deployment and removal at remote locations.
